Fair Locals is an e-commerce brand founded on the belief that every neighborhood has a story worth telling and identity worth sharing. I partnered with them to produce a series of designs that celebrate unique aspects of Seattle neighborhoods.

the Almanac of moss and steel
In this self-directed publication project, I chose to explore a topic close to my heart: my fond childhood memories of exploring the wild woods in my pacific northwest backyard. Moving to a bustling city for college filled me with a subtle feeling of emptiness, shared by many urbanites. My solution was to show readers how to build a joyful connection with urban nature—reframing their current experience and embracing new, exciting experiences to bring nature back into their lives!
In this project, I delved into the captivating world of Seattle ghost stories, discovering their deeper meaning and how they shape our perception. From lighthearted fireside tales to profound reflections on history and fear, each story carries a unique essence.
Ghosts in the emerald city
Once a bustling warehouse for tea, coffee, and tobacco during the 19th century trade boom, it now takes center stage as a vibrant theater, gallery, and office space. Het Veem is a bold, display, sans serif typeface that pays homage to the building's fascinating history and unique character.

The problem: A lack of dialogue about Indigenous culture and history in National Parks, which are situated on stolen Indigenous land. The solution: Homeland, an app that offers immersive AR experiences, detailed information, and statements from Indigenous peoples, allowing visitors to honor and learn about the cultures connected to the land they are exploring in the National Parks.

In this revitalization project, I created a set of six delightful symbols that beautifully represent the unique trees found in the Seattle Freeway Park.
