Although they’re usually thought of as a lighthearted fireside activity, ghost stories are much more than just cheap thrills – each story has something to tell us about the environment in which it was created and the people who continue to pass it on. A compelling story can have an impressive influence on people, even going as far as to shape our reality. Ghost stories are particularly interesting because of the commentary they provide on history, death, and the things we fear most.

In this publication, I explored the city I live in through this lens. Ghost stories, and their impact on places, are reflected throughout the book from content structure to page features.
