Fair Locals is an e-commerce brand founded on the belief that every neighborhood has a story worth telling and identity worth sharing. I partnered with them to produce a series of designs that celebrate unique aspects of Seattle neighborhoods.
In 1991 a live morning newscast reported the dismantling of the circa 1950 cold war rocket fuselage that was on display at an Army Surplus in Belltown. After hearing the news Fremont Business Association officials immediately went to acquire the Rocket. Instead of heading to the scrap yard, the Rocket was taken to Fremont and into urban mythology.
The rocket was erected on top of a building on the corner of North 36th Street and Evanston Ave North bearing the Fremont crest and motto, “De Libertas Quirkas”–which means “Freedom to be Peculiar.”

Open since 2000, Ballard Farmers Market is Seattle's first year-round neighborhood farmers market selling produce exclusively from Washington state farmers. Iconic bouquets populated by flowers that change with the seasons are sold at the market every Sunday.

With more than a dozen breweries, Ballard has become a tourist destination for beer. In fact, Ballard is home to more breweries than any other Seattle or Portland neighborhood. If you include Fremont and other next door neighborhoods, there are 22 breweries and taprooms!
