This project involved the cover design and internal page layouts for Against the Wind: Reflections on a Self-Determined Life by legendary mountaineer Reinhold Messner.

The goal was to create a visual language that reflects the author’s intense approach to life. I selected URW DIN as the primary display typeface. Originally designed for German railways and industrial signage, its geometric rigidity and high legibility provide an authoritative tone, avoiding unnecessary flourish, much like Messner’s own stoic philosophy.
